This home was built by high school vocational students from Phelps Area Technology Center, with grant money from KVEC (Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative). This is a self sustaining grant, and all proceeds from the sale of this home will be put back into the program for next year's build. All work was done under the supervision of licensed instructors. We have built 29 homes in the last 7 years.
Trailer is a DOT legal, custom built with two 7,000 pound, brake assisted axles. It is 102” wide 24’ long (with 3' buildout...27' total) 13’ tall.
This is Phelps Vocational Schools 7th Tiny House.
3” green foam board insulation under the subfloor, covered with ¾” Advantech subfloor. Walls are 2x4’s -16” center w/R-13 fiberglass insulation. Rafters are 2x6 -16” center w/ R-19 insulation. Exterior walls and roof are sheathed with ½” OSB, wrapped with Lowes house wrap.
Exterior door is insulated steel. Windows are double pane insulated side slides. Exterior siding is a combo of Vinyl hand split cedar shake by Variform, and M-Rock from Lowes. The roof is covered with metal.
Interior walls and ceiling have ¾”x 5 ½” pine bead board. The kitchen back splash and bathroom walls are white sub-way ceramic tile. The interior trim is ¾” painted pine boards. Interior pocket doors.
The flooring in the living room, bathroom and kitchen are 100% waterproof Smartcore Pro from Lowes. The bedroom and loft are covered with a high quality carpet tile. The Kitchen cabinets and counter tops are in stock Hickory Lowes cabinets. The cook top is a True Induction double burner, ceramic counter inset, with an exhaust hood and light. The refrigerator is a Premium Levella 24” wide stainless steel unit.
The bathroom has a one-piece fiberglass shower stall, lavatory, vanity, toilet and GE stack washer/dryer. Water heater is a 28 gal.
200amp service. LED lighting throughout. Ameristar 9000 cool/9400btu heat mini split.
