This tiny house has been built to the highest standards. The build was focused on making the most energy efficient tiny ever built. The highest quality materials were imported from around the world to ensure maximum efficient was achieved.
The exterior was completed in 2017. The exterior is covered with cedar clap board and steel siding. The windows are custom designed pella brand, filled with argon and coated to ensure the lowest u value possible. The door is also a custom pella door designed for maximum airtightness and efficiency.
Under the siding is a layer of 2 inch rigid foam insulation. The seams of the foam were taped and sealed to ensure airtightness. The house was sheathed using zip sheathing. Again, all seams were taped and sealed to ensure airtightness. The sheathing was painted with Carlisle weather airtight and fire retardant membrane. All penetrations were sealed with eco-tape before the Carlisle membrane was applied to ensure airtightness.
The frame was built using 18gauge 2x6 steel studs and welded. The interior has 3 inches of closed cell spray foam insulation. Coupled with the exterior foam board the tiny house currently has an r value of 31. Room has been left in the wall cavity to add an additional 3 inches of insulation. With an additional 3 inches of spray foam the house will have an r value over 50.
Due to the airtightness of the build two ventilators are included. The ventilators are lunos e2. Each heat recovery ventilator cost over $1000. They ensure that no heat is lost during the air cycle and ensure healthy air quality.
360sqft tiny house. Trailer is 32 feet total length. Interior is 27’x8’. The tiny house is set up for 2 loft. Both lofts have a closet built in.
