My family is moving and we are selling our tiny house and land on the outskirts of Lawrenceburg, KY close to Wild Turkey distillery and the Kentucky River. We have lived off-grid in this home for over 3 years and it has been a great way to save money, free up time, and travel light. It is a quiet, established neighborhood with good neighbors all around. There is no home owners association to deal with and the street is great for taking walks and kids playing.
It is located on a half acre with a great view of hills and horses from the back and forest across the street on the front. The lot has,
two mature trees, a few 2-3 year old trees, and a gravel driveway. The lot is buildable if someone wanted to build a single family home on it and has electric and water available now and will eventually have city sewer put in.
The tiny home itself is sheltered by a 2 walled storage building (open on two sides) and it set up for off-grid living. Outside implements are a deck, 2 wooden plank parking spots, a shed and a wooden plank sidewalk. Main pPower comes from a 900W solar array on the roof of the shed and a 3000W inverter, solar controller and 4 deep cycle marine batteries inside. There is an electric start 6000W backup generator outside. Water is collected from the roof through copper gutters and downspouts with 200 gallon rain barrel capacity. Water is pumped inside and filtered. Downstairs is an air conditioned living area, bathroom with shower and composting toilet, kitchen with double sink, butcher block countertop, water heater, propane stove and oven, washing machine, and 3/4 size three-way fridge. Upstairs is the sleeping loft and a storage/battery loft without stairs access (we use a ladder). It has a projector and built-in projector screen for entertainment, too.
