Nestled across the street from the Mohican State Park Forest, on nearly 2 ¾ acres is this quaint little, 10 x 20 log cabin with a covered front and back porch, and all the little amenities of home. Walk across the street to access the beautiful state park, which has approx. 6000 acres with a highly ranked mountain bike trail, an 800 acre lake for boating, beautiful hiking trails, rivers to canoe or kayak, 88 miles of equestrian trails, and many other points of interests for tourists or locals to enjoy. The area is in a mini snow belt so during winter snowfalls, cross country skiing is fun and snowmobile trails are available. This cabin is so quaint and cozy. Sit out on the porch swing and watch the wildlife, cook s'mores by a campfire, and in the winter snuggle up with a book by the fireplace!
The cabin was originally an off the grid, one room cabin with a "storage" loft. The loft was lowered as far as possible with extra supports added to make it a "sleeping" loft. After too many cold showers via hose pumping water from the well, it was time to modernize and add electric and water. Designing around a front door, a back door, a gas fireplace and 5 windows was not all that easy knowing a sleeper sofa, kitchen cabinets, small fridge, oven and separate bathroom were all desired in this small space. (Please note: the rail for the loft was taken down when it was lowered it. It's in the storage shed on site, and will be installed soon.)
Wanting an investment property? Since the area is a popular tourist destination, and since "log" cabins in a private setting are highly sought out in the state park area, this cabin would be a great investment property for the person wanting to use it as a vacation rental. This cabin was used as a private get away while the owners operated other vacation rentals in the area. Tourist season is very busy. Travelers need lodging and want lodging close to the park. This is a great location.
