Full off-grid living restoration. Why not buy a tiny home that can be towed down the highway at 70MPH!!
A total shell off restoration in the fall of 2018. My wife has fallen pregnant and we're now on a wonderful new journey. With great sadness, we have to sell our dream home that I just put nearly 2000 hours of sweat into. It was professionally at $70,000.
This Airstream has been rebuilt from the axles to the roof. Everything is brand new except the skins, the windows, and the frame, which is rust free and re-painted. We have well over $30 000 in receipts just for the new components we have installed. Nearly everything has warranty.
It has a massive 720 watt tilt-able solar array powering 200 Ah of Battle Born lithium Ion batteries. The refrigerator is 120V (No Gas Usage) Heating is provided by a Dickenson Marine wood stove or via a ventless heater which plugs into a quick coupling. The holding tanks and external plumbing are heated by 12 volt heat pads, hot water is tankless on demand system. We've wet camped happily in temps below 20 DegF and it takes over 2 months to empty the gas tanks.
The exterior has been polished. The windows have been resealed. Everything that opens and shuts has new gaskets. The body has some minor dents. Fitting front rock protectors would completely cover them. There are some patches at the rear where old fitments such as the furnace and battery box were removed. The patches have been buck riveted (not Olympic rivets) and will last as long at the Airstream. It turns heads everywhere we go.
