I'm an 8x12 Vardo on two wheels with electric brakes, built at Green Mountain College in 2019 and refurbished in 2023. A small solar panel and one deep cycle battery provide lighting and phone charging. Alternate power can be switched over to an external supply. Heat is a "Cubic" woodstove. A low power refrigerator (a rewired chest freezer) is installed. Kitchen sink and shower are foot-pumped from a portable 10 gallon water tank. Bathroom is a shower and sawdust bucket toilet. The one sink is in the kitchen area. Storage shelves are adjacent to the entry door. Other storage is under the bed and in kitchen drawers. Walls, floor and roof are insulated for three season living in Vermont's climate. Windows are reclaimed, single glazed units. Interior finish is beaded plywood walls, canvas ceiling, carpet and bamboo flooring over plywood. Exterior walls are cedar clapboards. Roof is waterproof rubber membrane covered with canvas. Entry porch is integral with the welded steel trailer frame, custom made by Viking Fabrications (a highly recommended little shop in Greenwich, NY)
